Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority of Bangladesh has got Dr. M. Mosharraf Hossain FCA, PhD as its new chairman. Earlier Dr. Mosharraf was the member of the IDRA Bangladesh, the only insurance regulatory body in the country.

Dr. M. Mosharraf Hossain is a professional with over 24 years of experience comprehensively in Insurance & Capital Market. Applying his expert professional knowledge he had made his employer Companies industry leader.
Throughout his professional career, Dr. Mosharraf occupied a good number of prestigious and high profile offices in different organizations which encompass CEO of two Life Insurance Companies and COO of a largest Life Insurance Company in the country, he has been serving as Independent Director & Chairman of Board Audit Committee of a good number of listed Companies as well. Before joining in IDRA, he was CEO of a leading Merchant Bank in Bangladesh.
Besides his routine job, Dr. Mosharraf was associated with ADB, ILO and many other national and international organizations as their consultant. He worked as valuer of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) in the phase of demutualization of the Bourses in Bangladesh.
Dr. Mosharraf completed his M. Com (Accounting) ranking first class first with track record of first class in all the public exams. For outstanding academic achievement in his B. Com exam, he had been awarded with prestigious accolade of Gold Medal. He did his PhD completing research on Investment of Insurance Fund from the University of Dhaka. He also cleared his MBA majoring Risk and Insurance Management. Apart from academic attainment, Dr. Mosharraf is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and Associate Member of Bangladesh Insurance Academy (BIA).
Dr. Mosharraf attended and presented key note in many conferences & seminars both at home and abroad and he has had contribution in building economic corpus of our country writing numerous research articles. He worked as the Vice-President of Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association (BMBA). He is also a member of Dhaka University Accounting Alumni.
